I have been with the company since 2008 and there have been tremendous changes and growth. In the years I have been a member of Wound Tech team, the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) department has grown from four people to fifteen where each person has their assigned territory from Miami, Broward, West Palm Beach, California, Nevada, Texas, and as far as Puerto Rico. It is the department’s responsibility to follow up closely with the PCPs’ offices in making sure that the patients’ insurance information is correct, authorizations and reauthorizations are always up to date so that the patients get the best possible timely care. One of the main goals of the PCC Department is to ensure the new patients’ referrals get processed on the same day and to schedule them to be seen within 24 to 48 hours. Also to maintain a close relationship with the PCPs’office, case managers and health plans as the patient is always the main priority for Wound Tech. I feel privileged to lead this integral department.
