Woundtech Continues to Provide Care to Patients

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Woundtech is committed more than ever to help enhance our patients’ safety and peace of mind while receiving wound care at home. Woundtech employs industry-leading, comprehensive protocols to help ensure the safety and well-being of every single one of our patients. Our multi-pronged approach aims to meet or exceed COVID-19 guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”), the World Health Organization (“WHO”) and other applicable federal and state agencies to provide safe care for vulnerable patient populations who need it the most.

How Woundtech is keeping patients and clinicians safe during the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic

Continuing Care

During this time where many businesses have been ordered by Federal, State and Local governments to shut down in order to impede the spread of this deadly virus, Woundtech, which is considered to be an essential business that provides medical care to patients in need, will continue to serve the community and ensure that Woundtech’s patients continue to receive the care that they require.

Patients First

Woundtech provides service to a very vulnerable population and their safety is our number one priority. By providing advanced wound care in their places of residence, Woundtech is helping patients avoid unnecessary exposure to healthcare facilities, where higher concentrations of people could further increase their risk of COVID-19 infection.

Safety Protocols

Woundtech has education and infection-control protocols in place for our team of field clinicians providing care at patients’ places of residence. Woundtech is following CDC, WHO and American Medical Association (“AMA”) guidelines to ensure that our field clinicians provide the safest possible care to patients. Woundtech is prepared to work with Federal, State and Local public health agencies, primary care physicians and patient caregivers to implement interim wound management plans for those patients placed under isolation or quarantine.

PPE

Our field clinicians, a team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Podiatrists, have advanced training in infection control and wound management, allowing them to provide effective care and create a safe environment for Woundtech patients. Woundtech has been working tirelessly to make available the most updated COVID-19 information to Woundtech field clinicians and to try to provide them with the necessary personal protective equipment to keep them safe and able to provide care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Patients

Woundtech is continuing to accept new patients in order to ensure that all patients requiring wound care can be seen by clinicians in the patients’ places of residence. Woundtech is also available to help wound care centers and home health care providers who are having difficulty seeing patients during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Woundtech is aware that wounds need to be immediately addressed with proper clinical care. Woundtech remains staffed and able to care for all such patients.

COVID-19 Patient Protocols

In order to ensure patient and Woundtech field clinician safety, and to minimize the spread of COVID-19, it is important for patients to communicate their health status to Woundtech staff members.

If you are showing any sign of COVID-19 symptoms, even mild symptoms, please contact your assigned Woundtech field clinician, Patient Care Coordinator and your primary health care provider.

According to the WHO, the most common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • Fever
  • Tiredness/Fatigue
  • Dry Cough
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Aches/Pain
  • Sore Throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Nasal Congestion
  • Runny Nose

Telemedicine

Our current patients can request to be seen via Telemedicine appointments in order to minimize contact during continued care. Woundtech can leave patients supplies via curbside drop off and are available to do Woundcare consultation via a telehealth platform. Our Care monitor team and Patient Care Coordinator team are also available via phone for any updates or needs for patient health.
