Woundtech National Vice President of Clinical Operations Dr. Minghsun Liu

Woundtech, an authority in wound care management, today announced the addition of Dr. Minghsun Liu as the National Vice President of Clinical Operations. In this role, he will oversee all clinical aspects of the organization primarily focused on improving patient outcomes and providing the highest level of care.

“We are very pleased to have Dr. Liu transition into this position at Woundtech, given both his professional background and his dedication to patient care,” said Aqil Chishty, Woundtech’s Chief Operating Officer. “We look forward to his innovative ideas continuing to better care for our patients.”

Dr. Liu has a B.S. in Biology from MIT and an M.D. and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from UCLA. As an infectious disease physician with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Liu said he has a long-standing interest in wound care and improving clinical care procedures to facilitate patient healing rates. He said that joining Woundtech was bolstered by CEO Dr. Jeffrey Galitz’s passion for wound care and providing service solutions for patient’s needs.

“Dr. Galitz showed me how important this problem is and how effective the solution to this problem is,” said Dr. Liu. “The goal is to rigorously look at clinical care procedures to standardize and automate them for efficient and effective care, encapsulating wound management that works.”

Dr. Liu has been with Woundtech since 2016, first as an Associate Medical Director and then as Senior Medical Director in 2017. His new role will garner him the opportunity to create new processes for Woundtech’s clinical team to provide strategy on program growth, sustainability and continue to improve overall clinical outcomes. Dr. Liu feels that custom concierge care is an overall trend in the medical industry because it provides the opportunity for aligned healthcare that produces higher success rates.

“Patient-centric wound care provides us with insight into the patient’s setting, chronic diseases and other factors that affect the way the patient heals,” said Dr. Liu. “The advantages are that it allows us to provide better care, reduce costs and align the interests of all the providers at the table.”
