Woundtech announced the appointment of Peter “Pete” Levine as the company’s Associate General Counsel, effective immediately. Levine most recently served Senior Regional Counsel for Mednax. There he served as lead counsel for the company’s Southeast region, providing support to regional operations, business expansion efforts and company departments. He negotiated contracts for the company’s clinical services, handled clinician employment matters, and ensured company compliance with healthcare regulations.
“Peter Levine’s vast experience in contract negotiation, compliance, and labor law make him a valuable asset to our team as we expand into new markets,” said Aqil Chishty, Woundtech’s COO.
Levine’s experience includes positions as Corporate Counsel for Tyco and Senior Attorney for the Social Security Administration Office of Hearings and Appeals. He said Woundtech was a great fit for him because of the specialized care they provide for at-risk patients.
“As a healthcare attorney with 21 years of experience, I have overwhelming pride to be part of this organization that helps patients throughout the country,” said Levine. “Woundtech has revolutionized wound management by bringing wound care to the patient. This specialized treatment benefits patients dealing with painful and debilitating wounds.”
As Woundtech continues to expand its concierge wound-care services to new markets across the country, Levine foresees that his role will be beneficial and necessary.
“Healthcare is a highly regulated industry. As Woundtech grows, it will be more challenging to ensure that the company remains compliant with healthcare laws,” said Levine. “I will create and implement policies and procedures that are necessary for a growing healthcare company. It is important to develop and administer a strong compliance program.”
Levine will play a pivotal role in overseeing contract negotiations as Woundtech continues to expand its business, as well as providing regulatory compliance, human resources, and operations support.
