Woundtech, a leading provider of advanced wound care, today announced the appointment of Robert “Bob” Maluso as Senior Vice President of Business Development. Maluso will oversee Woundtech’s nationwide business development, concentrating on expanding into new markets and developing new contracts with healthcare providers. Prior to joining Woundtech, Maluso was the Chief Revenue Officer at Vatica Health, where he developed a sales team to execute a national sales and marketing strategy.
The announcement of his new role falls in line with the Woundtech’s continued strengthening of its core management team to position itself for rapid growth within the national healthcare market.
“We are very pleased to have Bob Maluso on board at Woundtech as his Business Development and clinical experience will propel the company forward and allow for expansion and improved provision of care,” said Woundtech COO, Aqil Chishty. “We are confident in his ability and look forward to his ideas.”
Maluso – who excels at sales strategy and developing contracts with major players like Humana and Cigna – said that Woundtech is poised for exponential growth in the coming year.
“Woundtech has a solid national footprint across it’s more than 50 health plans and 300 medical groups. Focusing on growing our presence is key. Medicare Advantage states seems to be a logical next step to supplement our large anchor states,” said Maluso. “Since we are already at the point of care with a medically challenging group of health plan members, we can add services that could help impact other areas for our health plans, such as HEDIS and Star measures.”
Maluso also said that he plans on building a solid foundation by working closely with sales and the existing BD team.
“I am a big believer that success begins with setting specific well-written goals. They set the direction of the sales team and align with the objectives and direction of the company,” he said. “We obviously want to continue and expand upon the great growth Woundtech has delivered over the past several years, but we also want to build the foundation of the business development team this year for our future goals.”
